Engineering Support & Manufacturing Consultation

Expert manufacturing engineering at every stage of your product’s life; from first design review through to continuous production improvement. Available embedded in our turn-key programme, or as a standalone consulting service.

New Service Offering
Available as Standalone Consulting
You don’t need to be a full manufacturing customer to engage our engineering services. DFM reviews, NPI consulting, PRA/PFMEA assessments, and production engineering advice are all available independently, scoped and costed to suit your needs.

Overview

Your Embedded Engineering Partner

Our engineering team works alongside your engineers, account managers, and production teams, so everyone has the information needed to manufacture your product right, first time.

They hold deep knowledge across electronic design, PCB panelisation, stencil engineering, mechanical assembly, and lean manufacturing best practice. Whether you’re bringing a new product to market or optimising an existing programme, they are on hand at every stage, from the first design review through to continuous production improvement and beyond.

For teams that don’t yet manufacture with us, the same expertise is accessible through our standalone consulting offering, a direct engagement of engineering services with no manufacturing commitment required.

01

Product Risk Analysis
(PRA / PFMEA)

We spend the time upfront analysing your manufacturing pack, identifying risk areas and defining the process controls required before production starts. A thorough PRA/PFMEA at NPI stage prevents quality escapes and costly production stops downstream.

PRA / PFMEA Pre-Production
02

Design for Manufacture (DFM)

A DFM report is a direct output of our PRA/PFMEA process. Any design features presenting a manufacturing risk or potential failure mode are documented and delivered before you commit to material, so design iterations happen at drawing stage, not on the production floor.

03

PCB Review, Panelisation & Stencil Design

A well-engineered PCB and panel reduces material cost, enhances throughput, and lowers production failure rates. Our specialists apply best practice to review your PCB for fabrication efficiencies and manufacturability; PCB land design, panelisation layout and stencil aperture design are all critical to SMT production quality and receive high levels of engineering attention.

Engineering Change Management

You’re only as good as your documentation. Our strict yet agile ECN processes, live Workorder BOM databases, and process control systems mean product changes, recalls, and stop-shipment requirements are handled with rapid precision, and full audit trails are maintained throughout.

Incoming Inspection

When non-OTS material arrives from suppliers we verify that what was received is what was ordered. Informed by the PRA/PFMEA or by supplier audit history, we design and implement inspection requirements for any components requiring additional verification before acceptance.

Non-Conformance & Corrective Action

Every production quality event feeds our non-conformance and corrective action system, driving continuous improvement across our facilities. Full detailed reports are available to customers to support their own quality management and supplier management processes.

New Product Introduction

NPI is where the most value is created and the most cost is avoided. Engaging engineering expertise before a single component is ordered; rather than after a failed first build; can save months and significant cost. Our NPI process is structured, documented, and directly actionable.

What Our NPI Covers

Production-Ready
Before Build One

Our NPI process is a structured engagement that moves your product from manufacturing pack to production-ready state — with every risk identified, documented, and resolved before commitment to material.

01 Complete manufacturing documentation review before material commitment
02 PRA/PFMEA risk assessment — written findings with process control recommendations
03 DFM report delivered with specific, actionable design change recommendations
04 PCB panelisation and stencil apertures engineered for production quality and throughput
05 Work instructions and audit criteria established before first build
06 Engineering team present and accountable through pilot build and first production run
Lifecycle

Engineering at Every Stage

Our engineering team isn’t a pre-production formality. They are present and accountable across the entire product lifecycle — from initial design review through to ongoing production improvement and change management.

01
Pre-Production
Design Review & Risk Analysis

Manufacturing pack reviewed, PRA/PFMEA conducted, DFM findings documented before any material commitment.

02
Pre-Production
Process & Tooling Setup

PCB panel and stencil designed, work instructions authored, incoming inspection criteria defined for flagged components.

03
Pilot Build
First Article Validation

Engineering supports the pilot directly — monitoring process performance, capturing final findings, signing off before volume production.

04
Volume Production
Change Control & Auditing

ECN/ECO changes managed with discipline and speed. In-line auditing runs continuously. Non-conformances driven to corrective action.

05
Ongoing
Continuous Improvement

Process improvements and cost reductions identified throughout the product life. Standalone consulting available for next-generation design reviews.

Standalone Service

Engineering Consulting Without the Full Programme

Not every team is ready for full contract manufacturing — but every electronics product benefits from expert engineering input. Our consulting service makes that accessible independently.

Our engineering team’s expertise is available as a standalone service, independent of any manufacturing commitment. If you have a product in development and want a professional DFM review, a PRA/PFMEA assessment, or advice on panelisation and stencil design — we can engage directly.

This is particularly valuable for hardware teams manufacturing elsewhere who want a professional second opinion before committing to volume, or who are planning a future transition to contract manufacturing and want to ensure the design is ready.

Engagements can be scoped as a single focused review or as an ongoing advisory relationship across multiple development cycles.

“We can advise on your product regardless of who manufactures it. Our goal is to help you make better decisions — if that leads to a manufacturing relationship down the track, all the better.”
